Cici English
CLASS FORMAT: CORE Essentials

Full of enthusiasm, I have always been active. I have used movement as a way to quiet the noise. I found yoga when I saw the deep meaning in connecting to my center spark and allowing myself to recharge.

I have been practicing yoga since 2014, completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Numi Yoga in College Park, Maryland in 2019. Now based in Half Moon Bay, I am thrilled to be able to lead classes to a new community. To be able to share my practice and help people find their own center spark is the true gift.

Dawn enjoys time with her husband and friends and she is a doggy mom to 3 dogs, Skipper, Widget and Teddy.

Meredith Manning
CLASS FORMAT: Core Function & Fitness

Meredith holds numerous group fitness certifications, is a NASM personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist, and has experience with assisted stretching to help clients move past their existing range of motion. However, the most formative training she received was from her own personal trainer who taught her about functional training, which prepares people for their daily activities. Functional training primarily uses the human body as "the machine" with minimal equipment, using multiple joints at once to bend, twist, push, pull, squat, haul, balance, stabilize, and more. Students learn what their stabilizer muscles feel like and how to use them to prevent injury.  Functional training is also really fun, creates new neural pathways, and can be considered a form of physical therapy.

Amy Lin Thomas
CLASS FORMAT: Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Instructor and Teacher Trainer

EYRT-200/RYS-200/YACEP

My path with yoga has delighted and informed me with each twist, turn, hill & valley. I first discovered yoga in 1984 when I took an extra-curricular class at Indiana University. As a collegiate soccer player, I was looking for something to help me stretch my muscles and be physically flexible. Later as a graduate student in psychology at Sonoma State, I again explored yoga as an avenue to study the mind.

It wasn’t until 2002 when I found my teacher, Nancy Schalk, and completed her YA200 Teacher Training that I experienced the true and infinitely deep Heart of Yoga. I have been teaching (and learning) since.

In 2011, I founded Flourish Yoga + Wellbeing in Indiana as well as an accredited Yoga Alliance 200-hour Teacher Training School. I sold the studio and moved myself and my Great Pyrenees, Padma, to Kauai, Hawaii in 2015. There, I taught at the lovely Metamorphose Yoga studio for 3 years.

During that time, I had a near death experience and my healing came through my loving community, yoga asana, mudras, and meditation. Each experience and beings that I intersect with on this life path are my teachers.

In my classes, you will hear me remind you that “your greatest teacher is within and to follow the compass of your heart”. My intention is to be of service by empowering others to believe in possibility and choose to live a vibrant, flourishing life however you uniquely create it.

It is with humility, gratitude, and excitement that I am teaching in the beautiful Coastside yoga community.

TESTIMONIALS

“Jodi and the FIT team have done an outstanding job this past year keeping my group fitness goals in check.  I love the energy and community from group fitness whether it’s in person or via Zoom. I have also loved accessing the virtual library to try out new formats. I truly don’t know what I would do without the FIT Classes to give me social, mental, and physical stability!”

I found the perfect personal trainer at Fit Studio! After my knee surgery, I desperately needed to work with someone who knew how the body functions and heals because I did not want to reinjure myself. My trainer (Jodi) coached me to build full body strength, flexibility and confidence. After much encouragement, support and guidance, I returned to my favorite activities: yoga, cycling and hiking. Annually, we set goals together and create a measurable plan to determine progress. I love the accountability! Now four years later, I know I will never leave Fit Studio. Health and fitness are truly a lifetime commitment and I have a strong desire to maintain what I have accomplished. My entire body is stronger and currently my coach is helping me to fine-tune other features of fitness and health like further strengthening my core and focusing on my posture. The close relationship that my personal trainer (Jodi) and I have built will last a lifetime. I feel truly blessed.

"I started working out with Jodi about a year and half ago. I did not have any prior experience with either weight training or a personal trainer.  Jodi immediately took away my anxiety about trying something new and has always been encouraging and motivating. I really look forward to my workouts and enjoy seeing more definition, strength and flexibility!
I enjoy the variety of the classes offered at Fit.  I appreciate the commitment from Jodi in particular to keep us safe while offering virtual classes during the shutdown.  The instructors are committed to offer a great experience to all and offer options during the classes for various experience levels."
