How Do I Get Started?
You can start by purchasing a pass and signing a Waiver of Liability online or come into our 225 Shoreline studio to sign a Waiver of Liability and purchase a pass that works best for you. Our front desk staff will assist you with the process.
How early should I arrive for my first class?
If you have not yet purchased a pass, we ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your first class to fill out a Waiver of Liability, purchase a pass and introduce you to the instructor. After filling out your form, later in the day, look out for an email from FIT Studio to set yourself up with an account using your email and creating a password. Fit uses MindBody apps for this process.
Do I need to fill out a Waiver of Liability?
Yes. This is a requirement. If you do not, you will not be allowed in class.
Can I audition a class for free to see if I like it?
No. You will need to purchase a single, “Drop in” pass to see if you like the class.
Do you have new client Specials?
Yes. We have a New Client 5 Week Special of unlimited classes. This allows you to try our different classes and see what fits best for you and your personal schedule. This Special pass is not sold online. You will need to come to our studio front desk to purchase this pass. We are happy to assist you!
Can I just walk in, pay a fee and workout on my own?
No. This is not an open gym. FIT Studio has group classes and personal training sessions.
Do you have an app to sign in?
Yes. We use the MindBody/Client app. (not business). Look for FIT Studio HMB and create your account using your email and a password.
What Should I Wear?
Comfortable workout clothing and shoes appropriate for your class. If you do not have proper attire, you will not be allowed to take the class.
Do I need to bring anything?
Yes. You will sweat so, bring a towel and a water bottle to hydrate! We do have a water cooler for refills. If you forget your towel or water bottle, we have towels available to rent and bottled water to purchase at the front desk.
Do you have lockers or showers?
No. We do have Men & Women’s restrooms.
Do you have parking?
Yes. However, sometimes during the Summer Farmers Market on Saturday mornings and other special events, the parking lot fills up quickly. So, during these events, we recommend getting here early, carpooling, riding a bike or walking to the studio.
Do you have Childcare?
No. We do not have the space available to do so.
Do you provide mats for classes?
Yes. If you prefer to bring your own mat, please do.
Do you have discounted passes?
Yes. In providing proof, we have 10% discounted passes for high school and college students and teachers, military, first responders and Stanford employees enrolled in Healthy Steps. These Passes are not sold online, so you will need to come to the Studio’s front desk to purchase your discounted pass.
Does My Class Pass have an expiration?
Yes. Other than our Single Drop in pass which has a 1-month expiration, all our In Studio Class Passes have a 6-month expiration starting on the date of purchase. These passes cannot be put on hold, extended, are not refundable and non-transferable.
Does my Personal Training Session pass have an expiration?
Yes. Depending on the pass purchased, they have a 1, 3, or 6-month expiration date. These passes cannot be put on hold, extended, are not refundable and are non-transferable.
What are the Monthly Class Plans?
We have 3 Plans – Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each pass has a 12-month contract commitment with auto payments each month. Example: If you purchase this plan on the 1st of January, your credit card will be billed on the 1st of February with December 1st being your final payment for the year.
What is your refund policy?
FIT Studio does not offer refunds. You may return an item for Studio Credit towards another pass or FIT studio merchandise. Please make wise purchases.
How do I keep track of how many classes I have left on my Pass?
You can check by using the MindBody app on your computer or smart phone and when you sign up and check into class at the studio.
Can I put my Monthly Membership on hold?
Yes. You may put your membership on hold one time only for up to one month only during your 12-month contract. This must be requested by email at least 2 weeks prior to your next auto payment!
Can I use my Class Pass or Monthly Plan to pay for extra workshops at FIT?
No. Special events, workshops, programs or master classes have special pricing.
Can I share my Class Pass or Monthly Membership?
No. Everyone must purchase their own passes or memberships. ** Only children aged 16-21 can share their pass with their parent or guardian.
Can my child take classes?
Yes, however they must be at least 16 years of age and parent, or guardian must sign a Waiver of Liability along with your child.
Can I cancel/break my Monthly Membership Contract?
Yes, however, FIT does charge a cancellation fee of 1 month at face value per your membership contract. Keep in mind, FIT does not offer refunds.
Can I sign up for classes in advance?
Yes. In fact, we encourage you to do so! This helps our instructors plan for their classes, guarantees you a spot in class and if for any reason your class is cancelled, you will be notified by email. If you are not enrolled in class, you will not receive the cancellation email, which might result in you showing up to the studio for a cancelled class.
What happens if the Studio cancels a class?
Examples being: sick instructor, possible power outage, condensed summer schedule, or the class being permanently removed from our schedule. We will do our best to find a sub for our classes. If you signed into class, you will be sent an email announcement, and your name will be removed from the class so your pass will not be charged. This is why we encourage you to sign up in advance! If you were not, you will not receive the email announcement resulting in you showing up to the studio for a cancelled class.
Can I cancel myself out of a class or personal training session?
Yes. We understand life happens and this responsibility is yours to take care of! Do not call or text class instructors as they do not have the ability to take you out of their class. For FIT Group Classes – You can “early cancel” out of class up to 15 minutes into class. After the 15 minutes, this will be considered a “late cancellation”, and you will be charged for the class. This policy is enforced!
For FIT Personal Training Sessions – We require a 24-hour notice for any cancellation. Please contact your trainer via phone call or text so they can put another client in your timeslot. If you do not give your trainer 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged the full amount for the reserved session. This policy is enforced!
I have an old / new injury and have not worked out in a while. Can I still work out or take class?
Yes, you can if your doctor has cleared you. Our instructors and trainers always provide modifications. Please inform them so they know to do this for you.
I am pregnant. Can I still workout?
Yes, if your doctor says you can. Please let our instructors & trainers know so they can provide any modifications for you.
What kind of equipment does FIT have?
For Group Classes - Mats, barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, Body Solid bars, med balls, Large & Small Pilates balls, booty bands, sliders, rollers, ropes, TRX straps, rowing machine, Startrack weight station, tread mills, and stationary bikes in our Spin room. For Personal Training Sessions - All the above!
Do you have a first aid kit?
Yes, and a defibrillator. All our instructors and trainers are trained and certified in adult first aid and CPR/AED.
Does FIT have a partnership with ClassPass?
Yes. You will need to reserve your spot in a class in advance. Upon arriving at FIT, you will still need to “check-in” on our iPad at the front desk. If you do not early reserve and come to class, you must purchase a single Drop-in pass at the front desk to step onto the floor. Late cancellations apply and are enforced!
Does FIT have a partnership with Stanford Healthy Steps?
Yes. You must show proof that you are enrolled in the program to get one of our discounted passes. These discounts are not offered online. You must purchase it at the studio.
Does FIT have a partnership with GymPass / Wellhub?
Yes. You must show proof that you are enrolled in class 10 minutes before a class starts to step onto the floor.
