Meet the FIT Studio Team

We are extremely proud of the instructors we have assembled to lead you in achieving your fitness goals. Each is a specialist in their craft. Many of them possess credentials and experience in multiple disciplines – an added benefit you witness first-hand as they leverage techniques from one discipline to enhance your experience in another.

JODI

OWNER, INSTRUCTOR AND PERSONAL TRAINER

Bio: Since 1998, her areas of expertise in group fitness include: BODYSTEP, Barre, Core, BODYPUMP, Spin, Athletic Conditioning and Interval Training. She holds three certifications with Les Mills, including BODYSTEP, BODYPUMP and CXWORX, and is a certified Schwinn Cycling Instructor.  Jodi is an ACE certified personal trainer offering one-on-one and small group personal training for clients of all ages and fitness levels. Jodi’s 13+ years as a sales executive reinforced for her the importance of client satisfaction – something she feels is essential in running a truly client-centered studio like FIT. An avid skier and outdoors person, Jodi makes fitness an integral part of her daily routine. Jodi, her husband and two school-aged daughters love being involved in the Coastside community.

DAWN

CLASS FORMAT: Personal Training

Bio: Dawn became a certified personal trainer in 2012 and holds a Personal Fitness Trainer certification and a Sports Nutrition certification from AAAI (American Aerobic Association International) and ISMA (International Sports Medicine Association). She holds specialty certifications in Tabata and Bootcamp.

Dawn loves motivating and working with clients to help them reach their personal fitness goals. When she is not at the FIT Studio training with clients or working out herself she is on her mountain bike, hiking with friends, or walking her two King Charles Cavalier Spaniels.

EVE

CLASS FORMAT: Hard Core Cardio, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), Indoor Cycling

Bio: Eve has a passion for creating challenging, innovative, and  energizing workouts appropriate for people at all fitness levels. Eve’s classes feature great music, opportunities to progress to different levels, and a total body workout from warm-up to cool down. She specializes in cardio/strength formats and loves to include Yoga strength poses in her classes. Eve has earned her Schwinn Cycling Instructor Certification and is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor  through ACE (American Council on Exercise).

After turning the big 40, Eve decided she wanted to feel “Forty & Fabulous” rather than “Forty & Frumpy” and made the choice to make exercise a regular and important part of her life. She enjoys cross-training, including yoga, hiking, spin, weights, cardio, and running. Eve completed her first half marathon in April 2016. When Eve is not teaching, she is mom to 2 boys and runs her own professional organizing business.

JIMMÈE

CLASS FORMAT: Personal Training, BODYFLOW, BODYPUMP, BODYSTEP, Buns ‘n’ Guns, TRX Yoga

Jimmée’s classes and personal training reflect her philosophy: the mind-body connection is real, and so outer strength builds inner strength. She is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise, SCW, YogaWorks, and Yoga Alliance, has specialty certificates in BOSU, TRX, and Yoga Tune-Up, and was awarded the title of Advanced Instructor by Les Mills International. One of the creators of ReBoot@FIT, FIT’s clean eating program, Jimmée also understands the connection between good nutrition and good health. As a trainer and instructor, she is a good fit for you if your goal is to become stronger and more fit; to lose weight; or to increase your flexibility and strength in a mindful way. Training is not just a job for Jimmée, it’s a calling, and she hopes she can help YOU on your journey to live your best life.

KATE

CLASS FORMAT: BODYPUMP

Bio: Kate started out as a group fitness instructor while a college student at UC Davis. In over 25 years of teaching, Kate has taught high impact aerobics, sculpting, Cycling and Pilates. She is a Nautilus Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor, a Group Strength certified trainer, a Les Mills certified Body Pump trainer and has been a licensed Pilates instructor. A former litigation attorney, Kate studied classical ballet for 14+ years with the Sacramento School of Ballet which makes Kate the ideal addition to FIT’s Barre instructor team. Kate has lived in Half Moon Bay for over 18 years with her husband and 2 daughters. When she is not teaching fitness classes, Kate spends much of her time attending her younger daughter’s sporting events, or enjoying her older daughter’s musical and theatrical performances. Kate feels so privileged to be a part of the FIT family in HMB.

KERRI D

CLASS FORMAT: HIIT, Cycle & Core, Tank Top Arms, Abs, Arms & Glutes, Personal Training, Senior Fitness

Bio: Kerri began her professional adventure into Fitness in 2010 when she became a Certified Personal Trainer thru NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) and started working at FIT Studio. After that she became a Certified Group Fitness Instructor thru ACE (American Council on Exercise) and she immediately began developing new and exciting group classes for FIT studio including HIIT, Tank Top Arms and Core, and Abs, Arms and Glutes. She then went on to obtain certifications in Les Mills Body Step and Body Pump, Tabata Bootcamp, and SCW Kettle Bells. Her latest certifications include Schwinn Indoor Cycling and Senior Fitness Specialist. Kerri has had great success helping Seniors to not only improve their quality of life thru improving strength, balance and flexibility but also accomplish great feats! One of her clients recently finished training to successfully hike and summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa and another successfully trained and completed a 100 mile trek thru the Himalayas in 10 days! Kerri enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 boys, volunteering at her children’s schools, making a pot of soup, stand up paddle boarding, hiking with her dog, or biking on the beautiful coastal trail.

LAURIE

CLASS FORMAT: ZUMBA

Laurie has been a FIT member since April 2008. She became licensed to teach in Sept. 2009 by Beto Perez, the creator of Zumba. She is a success story in that she lost 85 lbs. with Zumba and healthy eating. She understands the struggles of weight loss and makes it her mission to support others in their journey to a healthier body and lifestyle.

Laurie is licensed to teach Zumba® , Zumba Gold®, Zumba Sentao® and Zumba Toning®. She has been group exercise certified through AFAA since 2011, is an active member of IDEA, and is CPR/AED-Adult certified. Laurie and her husband George have raised 3 children on the coastside; they currently live in El Granada.

LEIGH ANN

CLASS FORMAT: LITTLE DANCERS

Bio: Leigh Ann is a coastside native who first danced with Susan Hayward in Montara. After receiving her teacher training at The College of the Royal Academy of Dance in London where she received a LRAD (Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dancing) degree, Leigh Ann returned to teach at Susan Hayward School of Dance for 13 years. She has choreographed musicals for Half Moon Bay High School, Coastal Repertory Theater and Coastal Theater Conservatory. Since becoming a mom of two (very energetic) boys, Leigh Ann has taught at Rachel’s Ballet in Fremont. She discovered Zumba at FIT and was inspired to create a class for the youngest dancers! The LITTLE DANCERS class is offered at FIT Studio. Say hi to Leigh Ann when you see her in Zumba class, now that her “baby” is in first grade!

LELE

CLASS FORMAT: BODYFLOW, Barre, Pilates Small Group

Bio: Lele has been taking Pilates instruction for over 15 years and has been teaching since 2006 when FIT first opened it’s doors. She is a Balanced Body Certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor as well as a Certified Balanced Body Barre Instructor. She is also a Les Mills certified BODYFLOW and CXWORX instructor as well as SCW certified for Pilates Matwork, Pilates Small Apparatus and Group Strength. Lele is very passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates. Her big thing is FORM FORM FORM!!! Her enjoyment of teaching is clear to anyone taking her class, and she is always eager to share her knowledge, having received her Bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education. Lele is a longtime resident of El Granada and is happily married with 2 VERY energetic teenage boys. Lele is also co-owner of HMBPilates in Moss Beach www.hmbpilates.com.

LISA K

CLASS FORMAT: Zumba

Bio: Lisa fell in love with Zumba when she took her first class at FIT after moving to Half Moon Bay from Savannah, GA. Being new to town, she found people that welcomed her and made working out fun. Lisa became certified for both Zumba and Zumba toning in 2014. When not at FIT, she enjoys various activities with her husband and two children including camping, bicycling, playing at the beach, and volunteering at her children’s school.  

LISA W

CLASS FORMAT: BODYPUMP, BODYFLOW, Strength & Sole and Personal Training

Bio: Lisa Walker has been working as an ACE Personal Trainer since 2008. She holds a certificate for the TRX Suspension Trainer, an effective bodyweight exercise system and she is also a certified running coach with RRCA (Road Runners Club of America) – she loves to assist people on all levels of training for running. Lisa is a Barefoot Specialist with the podiatrist-led organization Evidence Based Fitness Academy, and a level II trainer of the barefoot willPower Method.  She can help you safely perform many exercises while barefoot, even plyometrics. Lisa trains people of all ages and levels, has helped an equestrian rider improve her time through specific strength exercises, and has worked closely with cancer survivors to help them on their mission to regain strength following chemotherapy. From her former career as a software engineer, Lisa knows how hard it can be to combat a sedentary lifestyle and maintain a balanced, healthy body. Lisa believes strength and energy are within everyone and she strives to bring those qualities to life in her teaching and training.

MARIE

CLASS FORMAT: Cycle Tabata, Tabata

Bio: Marie started training in June 2014, and holds since 2012, a Personal Fitness Trainer certification from ISMA (International Sports Medicine Association). She focuses on positive coaching and encourages clients to find their inner strength, develop, and expand to new limits, but most importantly, have fun in this journey.

Marie was born in France, works in Marketing, and launched the Just Run chapter of the Half Moon Bay International Marathon. She encourages children’s fitness through running in the Just Run program in HMB. When she is not at FIT, she enjoys running, yoga, spending time with her 2 children, family & dear friends, playing at the beach, or taking a road trip to a National Park.

MARGARET

CLASS FORMAT: Boot Camp

Bio: Margaret has been in the fitness industry for over 30 years. She got her start teaching PE and coaching elementary school children while attending college. She is a certified Personal Fitness Trainer through NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) and is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through AAFA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). She holds specialty certifications in Tabata Bootcamp, Schwinn Cycle, Body Training Systems Group Ride and Centergy, and Les Mills Cycle.

Margaret is committed to helping people push past their own mental barriers to achieve their fitness goals, both in the studio leading a Cycle or HIIT class or outdoors doing hill repeats and burpees in Boot Camp.

Margaret has raised 4 children in HMB and lives here with her husband Hank.

MICHELE

CLASS FORMAT: Zumba

Bio: Michele has been dancing since she was 5 years old, and when Zumba came to FIT Studio, she knew she had found her calling. Zumba has changed her life, and she looks forward to teaching every chance she gets. Michele is also an AFAA-certified group fitness and BUTI instructor and an active member of IDEA. She lives in El Granada with her husband, Jon, and children, Sam and Claire.

MONICA

CLASS FORMAT: Zumba, Zumba Step

Bio: Monica first caught the dance/workout bug when she became a certified Jazzercise instructor more than ten years ago in New Hampshire. After moving back home, and having two baby boys, she found Zumba at FIT and quickly fell in love. She became licensed to teach Zumba in 2012 and is now also licensed to teach Zumba Toning, Zumba Sentao and Zumba Step. When not teaching Zumba, she and her mother run The Posh Moon on Main Street. Monica lives in Half Moon Bay with her husband and two sons.

PAULA

CLASS FORMAT: Cycle

Bio: Paula became a certified personal trainer in 2016 and holds a Personal Fitness Trainer certification from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine). She holds specialty certifications in Spinning and Bootcamp.  Before moving to the US, Paula taught spin classes in Chile where she was first introduced to the exercise format.

Paula loves being active and leading a healthy and active lifestyle. She loves to surf and mountain bike, and she brings zest and flare to the classroom. Paula helps clients reach their personal fitness goals through strong coaching and building personal connection.

SHENANDOAH

CLASS FORMAT: Cycle

Bio: Shenandoah – free spirited, sassy, mom of two, aka “Shen” is a NorCal girl bringing her love of SPIN to the podium where her high energy inspires the room.  Her love for music and choreography resonates throughout the class, with a variety of Pop, Rock, Electronic, and her favorite… a throwback. As the music-beat inspired experience manifests her ideal combination of party, meditation and challenge. You’ll be stoked to simply let go, love life, and enjoy the sweaty ride.  She is Scwhinn certified and a 2016 USA Triathlon Nationals age group qualifier.

RYAN

CLASS FORMAT: Personal Trainer

Bio: Ryan joined the FIT Studio team in August 2015. Born and raised on the coastside, Ryan is the HMB High School volleyball coach, and all-around athlete. He teaches HIIT and Indoor Cycling at FIT Studio, and is finalizing his NASM Personal Training certification. Ryan is also a lead trainer for FIT’s new program – Young Athletes Program – that focuses on developing sports performance training.

Ryan coaches the HMB High School volleyball teams in the Fall and runs his own club volleyball program throughout the year. He enjoys surfing, climbing, running, playing basketball, and even an occasional yoga class. He has trained for, and competed in cycling races, marathons, adventure races, climbing competitions, and many team sports. He enjoys training coastsiders of all ages, skill levels, and abilities and encourages them to achieve their fitness goals.
